Because Adventure Doesn’t Have an Expiration Date
Welcome to Midlife Rovers.
We’re all about getting out there… Whether that means long highway stretches in the RV, winding backroads, or the occasional off-grid escape. These days, our travels might include towing our overland rig along for weekend adventures, but however we get there, it’s always about the experience.
Exploring new places, finding great campsites, chasing meaningful moments, and collecting stories along the way… We’re here to inspire others to explore more and wait less.
#TakeTheSquigglyRoute
Who are we?
We’re Jay and Alana, a midlife duo from southwest Ohio making the most of the empty-nest years through travel, hiking, and life on the road.
Our adventures take many forms (RV travel, backroads, overlanding weekends, and everything in between) but the goal is always the same: explore more, experience more, and share it along the way.
We’re big believers in going all in, whether that’s on travel, creative projects, or finding the next great bourbon stop.
We don’t claim to be experts, just real people figuring it out as we go and having a great time doing it.
Our home away from home…
Meet Tumbleweed, our 2021 Entegra Odyssey 24B and the reason we can comfortably wander as far as we do.
Built on the Ford E-450 chassis and powered by the 7.3L “Godzilla” gas engine, she’s had no problem pulling “Dusty” (Our 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee) through the mountains, across the plains, and into some pretty great campsites along the way.
She’s not just transportation… She’s basecamp, home, and often Jay’s office with a view.
Wilmaaa still gets her time to shine on overland-style weekends, but these days, Tumbleweed is the backbone of our travels and the key to staying out longer and going farther.
Travel Inspiration
Jay is a professional photographer. His work to capture landscape and travel images kicked off our travel and remains an important part of our adventures. While more time is spent recording video for our YouTube channel these days, photography is still a creative outlet that we both enjoy. While Alana may not actually take a photo, she will often rise well before first light with Jay in the hopes of experiencing a remarkable sunrise and moment. This is great since Jay is scared of the dark and needs her around to keep the boogie man and sasquatch away!
